When we purchased the land in 2013 and started making a plan for our vineyard, growing and producing Gran Cru-style chardonnay was at the top of the list.
Planted on the eastern slopes of the vineyard, chardonnay thrives in the mild growing seasons and naturally elevated acid of Ribbon Ridge. The 2024 Chardonnay features grapes grown on our estate vineyard. All fruit is organically grown, farmed, and managed by our family.
The 2024 vintage delivered a beautifully balanced growing season in the Willamette Valley — warm but even, with cool nights that preserved freshness and detail. On Ribbon Ridge, the fruit came in clean and vibrant, showing the tension and clarity that define our site.
Bright, clean, and mineral-driven, the 2024 Chardonnay opens with aromas of lemon peel, green apple, and white blossom. The palate is crisp and focused, framed by lively acidity and a subtle hint of oak that rounds out the edges without weighing the wine down. There’s a saline finish that speaks to our marine soils and a quiet depth that will unfold with time in bottle. This is classic Ribbon Ridge Chardonnay — pure, restrained, and full of energy. Drink now for its freshness, or let it age for 5–10 years as the texture deepens and the fruit gains richness.
2024 Vintage Notes:
A steady, moderate season defined 2024 across the Valley. Early rains gave way to a dry, even summer, and harvest arrived under calm skies with excellent fruit condition. On Ribbon Ridge, Chardonnay thrived — small clusters, bright acidity, and expressive aromatics suggest a vintage of precision and longevity.
